Sara Durham, LCSW
Ever since I was young, I've felt a strong calling to support and guide those around me. This journey of service began in high school, where I first dipped my toes into the world of mental health, working as a counselor for children with special needs.
I went on to earn my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Tulane University, and then obtained my Master's in Social Work from CSU Dominguez Hills. This education not only equipped me with the knowledge but also the compassion needed to make a difference in the lives of others.
After my graduate studies, I joined Seneca Family of Agencies in Alameda County, dedicating eight fulfilling years to assisting juvenile justice-involved youth and their families. My time at Seneca was a transformative period, where I gained extensive experience in supporting teenagers facing complex trauma, serious behavioral challenges, and difficult family dynamics. I took pride in my role in advocacy, striving to ensure that system-involved youth could remain at home with their families. I helped them build the necessary skills to be safe and successful in their community.
Having been licensed as a clinical social worker for the past five years, I've had the privilege of working with amazing clients and colleagues. Being a Bay Area native, it's an honor to give back to the community that raised me. In my practice, I aim to create a warm, welcoming space where every individual feels seen, heard, and valued. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy, where we work together to navigate the challenges you face, unlocking the potential for healing and growth.
